Steve Moore

Steve MooreSteve Moore was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC. Steve started playing pool at the age of 12 and soon realized that he really enjoyed this marvelous game. Steve won his first tournament at the age of 13. Steve was driven. I knew that playing pool was his calling, and Steve wanted to be the best Steve could be.

At the age of sixteen, something happened that would have a tremendous impact on his life. Steve got to play with Earl Strickland for eight months. Earl is truly one of the greatest champions of all times. He was his idol at the time. This was truly a dream-come-true. He continued his path by playing tournaments all over the US. While this life was not always easy for a young guy like him, the experiences truly helped with seasoning his game.

Steve reached a major milestone of his career in 1995. He had always dreamed of becoming a World Champion by the age of 21. He had worked so hard, day after day, after day to achieve this goal. In the end, Steve was the Bar Table Champion of the World, while barely being of legal drinking age.

Having accomplished this tremendous achievement was a blessing and a curse at the same time. Steve may have set back a little too much after becoming World Champion. He continued playing many regional tournaments in the Southeast and traveled all over the US playing pool, but Steve did not really play major tournaments.

To be sure, Steve does not think he wasted his time. All these years on the road truly helped him improve his game. He just did not have titles to show for all the effort and was just searching, but never quite found what he was looking for.

A few years back, Steve almost gave up on playing pool. He was just tired of living on the road all the time. In fact, he was ready to become a mailman. Then suddenly the IPT surfaced. Many people surrounding me encouraged me to try out for the IPT.  Steve always was very lucky in that he always had great people around him.

Steve really enjoys the competition of pool again. Steve is finally back on the path he wanted to take all along. He wanted to become the best pool player in the world. Steve is going for it now. Better watch out, Efren. Steve Moore knows that he can compete with the very best in the world.

Steve has defeated quite a few of them recently, including Johnny Archer, Thorsten Hohmann and Mika Immonen. He eliminated Alex Pagulayan, the 2005 US Open winner, from the last US Open. I have beaten Gabe Owen, the 2004 US Open Champion, a few times. He beat The Magician in the final of the 2007 Derby City Classic Banking Division. And he also won or finished high in quite a few pretty big events around the Southeast recently, in which also many current and former Mosconi Cup players participated.

Steve Moore is ready and he hopes you will support him in his quest for becoming the No. 1 player in the world.
