Talking just for Harry
Harry,
You elegance and good will toward man are noted once again in your response making the scores available. I have to ask, do you see a professional to help you manage living everyday life or is this your trash bin for your emotional regrets and short comings? I think JR and crew are professional and very accommodating. And yes, they don't have 40 people on staff like the IPT, but who could with what advertising pays on pool. I doubt BB would ever allow JR and crew take over the scoring system to where they had every bit of information. If you can use your pwoers for good instead of evil try this on for size:

1. Convince pool advertisers to pay more so IP can afford more assistants.
2. Convince BB to allow IP to operate a similar scoring system as in the IPT events.

If you can't do this, take your energy that gives you time to post vile opinions of others work and use it to analyze yourself for a while. I hope that you have the same lack of understanding for yourself as you do for others.

I wonder what Harry would do if he had to comment on himself and the way he acts? I doubt he would say anything nice. Good point though Str8shooter, Harry should point that finger at himself for once. JR and crew are terrific and you come into a man's house and act like this? You're definitely not a good guest. I can see constructive criticism, but you're a little off.

Doc, you took the words right out of my mouth. The first thing that came to my mind was that the scores tell the story. If the underdog gets to the hill and loses, you know the heartbreak of the loss. If they win, you know the joy that they must be experiencing. If the underdog wins by a landslide then you know that the stronger player isn't on their game... etc.

It's great to have the scores and I extend a sincere thanks to the IP crew from going the distance to bring these to us. Thank you.

I do ignore him. The ignore feature on the forums work well with one exception... if someone quotes the person you have on ignore, then you end up seeing what they said. Simply put, Harry is a whack job and I'm hoping his existence here is coming to an end. The other place let him go on FOREVER. Hopefully that won't happen here.

Str8shooter,

Where did you get the idea that the posting of scores was JRs fault. He is doing the best he can covering a tournament, which due to lack of funds for staff, can't provide him with the information he needs. To quote Rob Sykora:

[quote] Rob Sykora
“The online information for this year's event has been handicapped due to staffing issues. We appologize for any confusion. Rob Sykora BCn” [UNQUOTE]

Scores for a game should always be posted to keep fan interest. The
other board has scores posted. Barry Behrman or one of his underlings must know the score and is giving them to other board.

How ignorant do you think it looks to one and all, for someone to type: "I don't care about the score just who won." Like I typed before some of you posters are an embarrassment to pool and me, U.S. Open included. Hey, someone knows how to keep the score!

Just think how boring it would be here if Harry would not post. All the complainers would have nothing to say.

Think about it though, pick up any sport page and what do you see. Scores, scores and more scores. The fans demand it and would cause an uproar if the papers stopped reporting scores. Gamblers need scores.

Yep you all want the paper to say Tiger won holes 1,4,5,7,9 but he is behind in the match.

If you don't want the scores that is your right but it is also Harry's (and mine) right to look for scores.

The main reason you never saw scores before is because players are too lazy to report the scores because they really don't care about the spectators.
In a major tournament there really should be a scorcard that both players sign that is returned to TD's desk.

If they want to be called professionals, then for heaven's sake, they should behave like professionals.

Jake
