She does well on the western regional tours and has been in several WPBA events from winning qualifiers. She plays very well and certainly has enough energy to last through the event.
When they say she has "been removed until further notice" does that mean she is out or they are still deciding what to do? |
Some time ago, the issue of women playing in the U.S. Open was discussed on another forum. Brady Behrman, son of the man who runs the Open, indicated that an agreement had been made, a number of years ago, to allow the WPBA to use the name "U.S. Open" for their ladies only event. Another part of the agreement was that women would no longer be allowed to play in the U.S. Open, run by Barry Behrman in Virginia, and that would become a mens only event.
Unless something has changed recently, women will not be allowed to play in this event.
I can't say I agree with this situation, as I would love to see the women and the men competing in the same U.S. Open. I think it would be good for pool, as a whole.
