Default competition
Sarah- on the Wpba tour who would you say is your toughest competition? I mean when you see the bracket you say "Oh my".

Who is the least intimidating?

I would also like to see the answer to that question, but let's eliminate Allison and Karen. I think it is a given that no one wants to see them in their section of the bracket.

Hi There!

I actually don't look at who I'm playing, it really doesn't matter. Although, I'm finding it hard to settle on TV specially against Allison & Karen. I have so much to work on before 2008. The only person who stands in my way, is myself

Sarah

I was just wondering.
A few years back Karen said that Jeanette Lee was her most intimidating opponent. This didn't mean Karen could not win.

Anyway keep stroking...

Sarah's post is the attitude all players should adopt - especially in 9 ball. At the table, it's just you and the lay of the table. If you think you can't make the shot, play a safety.

I believe that attitude is a good one. Unfortunately, there's some variables like confidence in success and yourself that needs to be present. Success breads success. You may not be able to win the world championship on your first try. You may need to slowly see yourself climbing the ladder of success until you can treat every shot as "just another shot" because it's impossible to completely fool yourself into thinking that your not playing against a player. Otherwise you're saying something stupid like "I'm just practicing with somebody trying to use your practice table until they miss."

My point: Adopting Sarah's attitude is the final step. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you're suposed to be able to do the first time you try it. Like most things, it's a lot harder than it sounds/looks. At the same time, be prepared for the marvel that attempting this bring.
