Default Looking for info on a Brunswick cue
I just came across a Brunswick cue that was kicking around the garage for quite some time. I'm hoping that someone here might be able to tell me more about it (age, value, inlay material, etc..). I estimate it to have been produced in the mid-80's but I could be wrong.. I asked about the inlay material because I dont know squat about ivory or ivorine or whatever else people use for inlays, but I did count 19 of them. I apologize for the glare in the photos.. I'm no photographer.

Thanks for the help.

Geoff

The cue was made in Taiwan, during the 1970's or early 1980's. The inlays are plastic, these cues are not collectible at all. These cues were the beginning of the cheap imports that flooded this country after Brunswick quit making their own cues. Then in the late 1980's Joss, McDermott, and many others made cues for Brunswick, and these cues were nice quality again. Then in the late 1990's Brunswick had Dufferin make another cheap lines of cues.

Short and sweet Brunswick has had many different people produce their products, and the cues like the one pictured were the lowest quality Brunswick cues ever made, sorry but this is the truth.

Have a good night!!!!!!!

I had no idea of the history of Brunswick, other than knowing that the name has been around forever... Like I said, I knew nothing about the history of this cue either. Upon inspection, I noticed that the quality of it is very very poor; a quality that I wouldn't have previously expected from a company that has been praised so much for its tables. Although it is in immaculate condition for its age, my hopes for any value coming from this very poorly made cue were slim to none. But thanks so much for the info on it. I appreciate the quick response as well.

Thanks again,

Geoff
