Default Anyone heard of Gandy tables and can help me out?
Hi I'm new to this place. I am looking to buy a pool table and found a local one on craigslist and it is made by Gandy. I'm not huge into pool yet, but I do know a few tables out there and have never heard of Gandy. I cant seem to find anything about them on the internet, and need to know if anyone can tell me if it's a quality table. He says he paid $3,700 for it, but most people lie on craigslist.

Here are some pictures of it. If anyone can help me that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Stealthie,

Gandy is a now defunct pool table manufacturer. Gandy tables are of good repute! It's a legitimate table. Brendan's Pool Hall in Fairview Heights, IL used to have one just like the one in your picture.

However, offer him no more than $2300 for that table. If $3700 includes shipping and handling, haggle him down to $3200 - of course you could probably find a local billiard store that could sell you an AMF table for $2200 and that would include delivery and installation.

Thank you for asking your question. Hope my answer helps!

Yours Truly,
The Woim

Thanks for the response. I forgot to mention that he is selling it for $1000. I went and looked at it today and it looks great. The only thing holding me back from buying was that I never heard of Gandy. But Gandy is a good table then I guess I will have to pull the trigger.

Thanks again for the response.

It's a good table, and at the right price...you'll be ok with this table.

AMF is out of business.

Gandy was made in Macon, Ga. After they shut down they opened a new line of table called American Heirloom and are based near Atlanta. I believe you can contact the former Gandy people at American Custom Pool Tables

Very few pool tables are not three pieces of slate.

Thanks for the replys. The pool table is in my basement all set up. Picked it up at a estate sale for $750. I had a local pool table company move it and set it up. Your right, very good quality. They wanted to buy it from me! I did like Dartman said and called the Gandy people at American Heritage in Georgia. Very helpful
