Default Need help purchasing first pool table
These are my options so far

1. Olhuasen Americana $2200.00 New
2. Thomas Aaron Belmont $1700.00 New
3. Used Connelly 10 years old Unknown condition $1,000.00
4. Brunswick Manchester used unknown condition $1,000.00

The Brunswick is 7 years old and has been used at a bar the whole time. Keep in mind that the used tables will also cost $350.00 to move and $200.00 for new felt. Any other suggestions to keep me close to $2,000.00 limit. Thanks for any help. This is my first pool table purchase and im still learning the game.

On occasion, I install for BilliardEx which distributes "Spencer Marston" tables. They are incredibly well constructed tables with all nut and bolt KD framework. All of their cabinets are at least 1.5" solid hardwood and have a nice finish. They start at $1399 delivered and they help you find a reputable installer in your area. You can have a great table delivered, w/accessories and set-up for under $2k.

Do you have any experience with Beach pool tables?
If you do, to what other brand table (in terms of quality) would you compare Beach to?

I am considering purchasing one and can not get any information on the brand.

Appreciate any info you could share.

Even though Beach went out of business about a year ago, I wouldn't hesitate buying one. They are upscale tables and some very ornate depending of course on model. Even their lowest end table was better than many mid-level tables of other manufacturers. All are very well built solid hardwood tables. They would be similar in quality to the upper end Olhausen tables. Playability is close to Brunswick's with SuperSpeed cushions but not quite as fast at Olhausen's AccuFast cushions.

Beach also manufactured a high quality series of 3-in-1 poker tables/dining tables, chairs and spectator chairs. Very nice!!

I very nearly purchased one about 6 months ago until the seller figured out what he had and back out on the sale. It was MY loss!

Hope my opinions help a little.....

Thanks for the quick response. After seeing your web site, very Nice!!, and recognizing your significant experience in working with many different brands and types of billiard tables, I value your professional opinion.

In making a significant purchase of this type, that has the capacity to bring the family together on almost a daily bases for many years, the last thing we wanted to experience was "buyers remorse".

My Family and I look forward to enjoying our game of pool on a fine work of art.
(your right about the ornateness of these tables - they can be beautiful)

Thanks again
Mike
