its my strong belief that The Shaft Taper, tennon/ferrule, and tip will effect the way a cue feels 3000% more than the joint type or style of joint pin used....i'm not sure what you mean by Feedback...wood to wood will let more vibration passs throu the stick ....its my opinion that Glass joint pins are just a Gimmick any joint pin as long as it mates correctly with the shaft is as good as the next. use what you have confidence in and thats the best stick for you, dont let anyone tell you differnt

personally i use a Steel jointed Schon with a custom Diveney old growth (sunken log)maple shaft 12.25 mm with a hard le-pro(after sorting throu the box) tip.. i like Schon's origional shaft in fact i like it too much and dont want anything to happen to it, so i bought the Diveney shaft and realized i like it just as much for different reasons.....both very hard hitting shafts...but im sticking with the Diveney to save the origional.

sound is vibration....call me crazy but if a cue doesnt have a certain sound to it when i strike a ball i dont like the cue (im not talking about a broken sound but the sound the cue is supposed to make)...if im in a noisy room it doesnt bother me because i cant here it....other than the balance, weight, shaft diameter of the cue the sound is what i look for.

we all have our favorites, but i build cues with wood pins. the old billiard cues had wood pins and hit very stiff. i like stiff hitting cues, so i started experminting and came up with this pin. its 1/2 by 8 inch thread. i break with the one i use and have made approx 225 cues in the last 6 years and never had any problems with the pin. i love the feel of wood to wood to wood.

i do not want to lead anyone in the wrong direction, i did not invent the 1/2 by 8 wood pin. just to clairfy what i meant was the i experminted with a number of different thread sizes. i even went so for as to have a few different thread size tap and dies custom made for experments. sorry, chuck starkey
