Default Great finish!
That had to be about the most exciting Mosconi Cup finish ever. We had a poster on RSB posting as he was watching the live coverage in Europe. Not like getting to watch it live, but fun anyway.

I'm just guessing, but I have a feeling that was Earl's last hurrah. As long as he was posting more W's than L's, he was worth the drama. After blowing the match he blew today, I'm not sure he'll be on the U.S. team next year.

I found this web site because of the coverage. It wasn't live but it was good enough for me. I'm not sure about Earl. He always has a way of coming out on top. I expect to see him next year as long as he keeps up with the antics. Besides, he's always good for TV. That's all that matters.

Call me silly, but doesn't it seem odd to have a tie be counted as a victory. I know that they had to beat us, but why not play one more set?

I'm assuming that the organizers have decided they want a definite victory before awarding the cup to a team. The closest score a victory can be is 13-11. If it comes down to one set, after a tie, it is like tossing a coin.

didn't Europe have to beat the US to get the cup? I can see their point, I guess.

I'm glad to see the US win, but I too would have liked to see a 13-12 finish instead of a 12-12 finish.

a win is a win but I can definitely see your point. I would like to have seen a true victory.
