I hate to correct a teacher, but I think you changed your mind (not Mine) and the more important correction would be that Whitten cases have tubes where your cue and shafts are less snug then the Justis, and if you get a new Justis (Pro Lite) and put enough cues/shafts in they are quite snug.
For snug tubes you'll need to buy from the nutty professor, now let's see him claim I don't push his cases.

The Whitten does not hold cues any more snug than a Justis. The Whitten has tubes but the Justis will provide excellent protection as well.

I have a $2,200 South West and a $1,300 Bluegrass in my Justis and they don't have a nick or blemish or anything.

I like the 2x4 Swift. Here's why.

At small tournaments in my area, I often leave my cues screwed together between matches. But I will put them in my case even though they're still screwed together. I'm sure a lot of people do this. The lid opens front to back like an Instroke. You can carry the case by the open lid flap. You can carry a Justis this way also, but the lid is sideways and it's a little awkward.

I hope that makes sense.

I also like the idea JB had on one of his cases. He put a handle like most case makers do on the lid, but his was down about 3 inches past the lid.

I have to say that this is one of my pet peeves, I hate when people keep their sticks screwed together in there cases. I can't stand watching when people walk around with the case on their back and the sticks sticking way up in the air. I'm a fat lazy guy, how F-in lazy do you have to be that you can't unscrew your cues. These people make me wish there were more ceiling fans around. I can't stand people who lean their cues against the side of the table when they rack and I can't stand when people carry their cues around sticking out the top of their cases.

Jim <-------Thinks these people look foolish

Hi Mully,
No offense taken whatsoever, but just for your information try and think about this.......

With the butts fitting snug in a tube type case, every time you put the butt in or out, friction is created between the liner and the cue and eventually, will cause a hazing condition on the finish. Add a little chalk dust or other air borne abrasives and this conditions is greatly magnified. I am not saying it happens over night but I have seen it on many cues that were stored in snug fitting cases....not only Instroke but others as well. I am totally convinced that is is much better to have the butts fitting loose to minimize friction against the finish and also for better air circulation around the cue. Some are concerned about the butt of the cue hitting aginst the wall of the tube when the case is shaken....I have never understood this but if you shake your case, please stop. Its annoying and serves no useful purpose. In the 19 years of making pool cue cases, I have never once had anyone call and say they suffered cue damage as a result of the cue fitting loose in a tube type Justis case.

The ProLite interior solved both of these concerns. With the cues loaded in the not so snug sleeves, the entire liner moves in unison with the cues and prevents the sound of "butt rattle" you hear sometimes in a tube type case.

I fully understand that everyone has their preference and I am not trying to downgrade any casemaker but just try and use simple common sense when making your choice between snug and loose. It also might be wise to ask your cuemaker what he prefers.

This is a 3x6 Whitten.
They are tanks aren't they? I use a black one (I sprung for pockets/shoulder strap you cheapskate) for my daily driver.....and I think I could run over it with a tank.

Thanks for the reply, Jack. I'll take all of this into consideration before I make a final decision. One question, with the pro-lite interior is there any chance of a nick on the butt from the edge of the shaft hitting it etc...? I don't go around shaking my case but there is a natural tendency for the cues to rattle when the case is picked up, put down on it's side in the car, walking up steps etc...
MULLY
and for the record, your cases are the coolest things I've ever seen
