Here's an announcement from Kevin Trudeau.

Dear IPT Player,

You can pop the champagne! I am pleased to announce that we have
successfully concluded our negotiations relating to the funding of the IPT.
The final documents are being finalized at this very moment. We will be
signing on Monday. This means that player checks for the World Open will be
issued within seven-to-ten days or sooner! Thank you again for your patience
and understanding during this business transaction.

The Ho Interactive acquisition negotiations and documents should be
finalized by the end of next week. A formal announcement will be made upon
conclusion of the transaction. We anticipate announcing shortly additional
major sponsors for the 2007 season as well as additional broadcasting
contracts with major television companies in several international markets.
I will update you again on Monday with more definitive news! We are here to
stay and continue to go forward building the largest international pool
organization the world has ever seen. Many more good-news surprises are on
the horizon. Have a great weekend.

This is good news, if nothing else changes.
Based on the way things have been going, I guess we all have to take a wait and see attitude.
I will feel more confident, once the players get paid what they are due.

It could be great. The tour could be sold and everybody could get paid. It could also be bad if the tour doesn't get ran we the players needs in mind. I'm reminded of a Twilight Zone episode called "To Serve Man". What we think is the answer may not be all daisies.

Let's get some things straight. Do I think that players will be paid. Yes, always have and will until it's final that they won't. There's too many reasons such as the money already invested would be lost and the implications of fraud. Do I think that the tour will be sold? Yes. I never underestimate a man, especially a man that can sell.

What concerns me is the future of the IPT/sport. If the IPT falls into the wrong hands, things can change dramatically. New people, new thoughts, new outcomes. I agree, what will happen to the IPT and the sport of billiards. I await two announcements. the first being the "Finally sold announcement and the second being the "what the new owners has to say" announcement. I seriously doubt that the new owner will give 100% free reign to Kevin and Deno. I seriously believe that the future has been discussed, but it could have been more important to transfer the IPT ownership than to make sure it has a good home.

You forgot the third announcement. It is the announcement that is feared by many of the players and that is most of the tournaments will be moved to Asia.
Although it is no different for Asian players to come here, as it would be for American players to travel to Asia, many of the American players did not consider that possibility, when they signed on. I don't think any of them would mind going for one tournament, or maybe two, but I don't believe they would like to steadily go to Asia for the bulk of tournaments.
One major player, who is also a family man, is really holding his breath waiting for future schedules.

I have a couple of problems with the IPT. Although it sounds like a noble attempt at legitimizing billiards worldwide, it just seems to me that it could be accomplished a lot easier by someone not carrying as much baggage. The second thing ythat really bothers me is a telecast recently of the July 8-ball tournament. How in the worls the IPT could let Earl Strickland get away with his behavior on an internationaly telecast match, I will never understand. And that doesn't even address Cuetec not admonishing him, and continuing to sponsor him!
