Default How Often Does a Shaft Need Replacing?
Another poster said that he replaces the shaft on his production cue every two or three years. The production cue is approx. 23 years old from a reputable maker.

Does a shaft have a short life span?

On the other hand, I've got an 18 year old production cue that I never play with personally but have passed it on to my son. The shaft seems whippier than in years past, but that may be because The Woim has moved on to stiff custom cues.

Does a shaft have a short life span? Does the fiber in the wood break down over a short period of time or does the shaft need to be replaced from abuse?

Yours Truly,
The Woim
