The top amateur poolplayers in North America headed south to the Sunshine State in early-November to compete in the U.S. Amateur Championship. The 2012 version of the sport’s most prestigious amateur tournament featured 128 men and 32 women all with the dream of adding the title “U.S. Amateur Champion” to their billiard resume.
The Men’s Division will feature 128 players, while the Women’s Division will feature 32 players – all vying for the coveted U.S. Amateur Championship title. In addition, the winner of the Men’s Division will advance to the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship, while the winner of the Women’s Division will advance to the WPBA U.S. Open – with travel, lodging and entry courtesy of the APA.
The world’s largest pool tournament, as recognized by Guinness Records, returned to Las Vegas in mid-August as thousands of amateur poolplayers competed for more than $1 Million in prize money! More than 2,100 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Doubles and Masters teams made the trek to Sin City to compete, Aug. 16-25.
