IPT Announces Reyes and Murphy as Contestants

 

Pool legend Efren Reyes will compete in the next IPT Challenge against future champion Austin Murphy.
Pool legend Efren Reyes will compete in the next IPT Challenge against future champion Austin Murphy.
The International Pool Tour announces that living pool legend Efren Reyes will compete against rising star Austin Murphy on April 29th, 2008. The IPT Ultimate 8-Ball “Viewers Choice” challenge match called on pool and billiards fans world wide to pick the players for this next free live broadcast. The fans responded with a massive number of votes. Their voice determined that the match would put the teenager Austin Murphy in a position to prove himself as a professional against the game’s living legend Efren Reyes. All billiard fans can watch this live broadcast absolutely free on www.internationalpooltour.com. The feature match in the IPT Ultimate 8-Ball match will be under the grueling IPT conditions of tight pockets (courtesy of Diamond Billiard Products) and slow-nap cloth made by Gorina.
 
The IPT Ultimate 8-Ball  is also going to have a "under-card" 14.1 Straight Pool match between World Champion Oliver Ortmann and John Schmidt. The match will take place during the April 29th live broadcast. Although being called the under-card match, the players are both world-class athletes whose match is essentially another feature match! Deno Andrews, IPT Director said, “I am delighted to see this match-up between Austin Murphy and Efren Reyes. Obviously, Efren is one of the greatest players ever.
