Rose is Right On

Nathan Rose took the spotlight at the J. Pechauer Southeast 9-Ball Tour’s Stuart Open the weekend of December 8-9. Hosted by Amy’s Billiards in Stuart, FL, this stop attracted a field of 39 competitors.

Rose marched undefeated to the finals, winning the hot seat over Richard Broumpton by the narrowest of margins, 9-8. Sent to the one-loss side, Broumpton faced off against Chip Klein, who had just bested Hunter Lombardo 9-6 to put him in the fourth-place spot. Klein wasn’t able to put up much of a fight against Broumpton, who dusted him 9-1 en route to his rematch with Rose. In the double-elimination finals, Broumpton looked strong in the first match, dealing Rose his first loss of the event 9-5. However, Rose collected his wits about him and came back in the second set, securing first place with a 9-2 victory.
