ACS Presents Pure X All American Tour 8-Ball Results

The twenty-sixth stop on the 2013-2014 Pure X Cues All American Tour stop – presented by the AmericanCueSports Alliance (ACS) – was produced with the Las Vegas 8-Ball Warm-Up
– at Q’s Sports Bar & Girl in Port Charlotte, FL – on Saturday, April 12. The $484-added, handicapped 8-ball tourney on 7-foot Valley bar boxes drew 31 players from all over southwest Florida. There were three Master Men racing to 6, one Master Woman racing to 4, two Open Women racing to 3 and twenty-five Open Men racing to 4.

The A-side semi-finals found Albert Baker (Port Charlotte, FL) [6] bested by Chris Truax (North Fort Myers, FL) [4] 4-1 and Kim Dyer (Venice, FL) [4] getting past Greg Leggat (Fort Myers, FL) 4-1 for the rocking chair position, Truax struggled against Dyer’s dominance to anoint Dyer as the only remaining undefeated player

The B-side Quarter-finals had Joe Zinkan (Bradenton, FL) [4] sending Greg Leggat south with a 4-2 win; and Albert Baker won his hill match with Louie Mastra (Naples, FL) [4] 6-3 This set up the B-side semis match between Baker and Zinkan. Baker sent Zinkan home with a 6-2 win and gained a seat in the final B-side match.
The B-side finals pitted Chris Truax against Albert Baker for the second time this day, and Baker was dominant again with a 6-2 victory.

The tourney finals match had Albert Baker having to defeat Kim Dyer two matches for the win. Dyer was intent on the win and played exceptional pool. Dyer claimed a first set, 4-3 win over Baker to take home the first place prize money!

The Pure X Cue and Nick Varner case were won by Britannee Willard (Port Charlotte).
