Towery Takes Great Southern Billiards Title

Adam Towery tore through the Great Southern Billiard Tour’s Spring Fling field, going undefeated to take the title over Randy Jordan in the final match. The 67-player field gathered the weekend of April 20-21 at Chalk It Up Billiards in La Grange, GA, for the 9-ball tournament, which boasted a $5,000 prize fund.
In the winners’ side final four, Towery took care of J. R. Rossman 9-7, while Matthew Cummings sent Daryl Gables to the one-loss side 7-5. Towery then dominated Cummings in the next round 9-3 to claim the hot seat.
Moving through the west side of the chart, Jordan eliminated Stoney Stone in seventh place 11-3 and then sent Rossman home in fifth place with an 11-7 victory. Tying with Rossman was Gables, who was eliminated by Timmy Heath 9-4. Jordan went on to take care of Heath in the quarterfinals, besting him 11-7.
In the semifinal match Jordan faced off against Cummings and claimed that match 11-6 to meet Towery in the finals. It was a closely contested bout, but Towery was able to come out ahead 9-9 to take the win.
