Thursday, the seventh day to play at the 15th Derby City Classic finds two of the three main events completed. Monday was the completion of the 9-Ball Banks and the crowning of Francisco Bustamante as the 2013 Champion. Thursday was the completion of the second main event, One Pocket. Coming into the final day there were eight players and nine completed rounds of play. After two more rounds of play on Thursday the Semi-Finals came down to three players, Shan Van Boening, Francisco Bustamante and Corey Deuel, the only player with a re-buy still available.

The draw would have Francisco Bustamante with a bye, and Shane Van Boening verse Corel Deuel. The first game was a barn burner, going almost one and half hours with Shane taking the lead 1 to 0. Corey would take the second game in just 15 minutes but Shane Van Boening the 2011 and 2012 One Pocket Champion would take the next two to win round 12. With all three players on one loss sets up a three man re-draw for round thirteen. Cory Duel would get the bye for this round and Van Boening would face Bustamante.

The match was all Bustamante eliminating Van Boening in third place, with a score of 3 to 0. The first game of the final between Corey Duel and Francisco Bustamante set the tone of the match with Corey wining 8 to 0. The second and third games would also go to Corey 8 to 3 and 8 to 0, Crowning Corey Duel the 2013 Derby City Classic One Pocket Champion.

Francisco Bustamante’s has locked up the All Around Championship with his continued play in the 9 Ball event, his second place finish in the one pocket and having won the 9-Ball Banks on Monday.
