Andoni and Nau Split Tri-State Billiard Title

Borana Andoni and Victor Nau opted to split top honors at the December 15 installment of the Tri-State Tour, with Andoni taking the title as the undefeated player. The $1,000-added 9-ball event drew 33 players to Castle Billiards in East Rutherford, NJ.

Borana Andoni and Victor Nau opted to split top honors at the December 15 installment of the Tri-State Tour, with Andoni taking the title as the undefeated player. The $1,000-added 9-ball event drew 33 players to Castle Billiards in East Rutherford, NJ. Victor Nau (2nd place), Borana Andoni (1st place) and Kyle Bubet (3rd place)

With a hill-hill victory over Kapriel Delimelkonoglu, Andoni found herself one of two in the hot seat match. Her opponent, Kyle Bubet, had just bested Joe Varvaro 6-5 to challenge Andoni. In a narrow 7-5 victory, Andoni remained unscathed, while Bubet had to face the one-loss side of the chart.

Making his way through the west side, Nau eliminated Delimelkonoglu in fifth place 7-4, while Ray Marisette tied with him there via a forfeit to Varvaro. In the quarterfinal match that followed, Nau nudged out Varvaro in fourth place with an 8-7 win.

It was another close call in the semifinals, but Nau pulled off the win 9-7. Nau and Andoni decided to split the first-place prize in the finals, with Andoni taking the title.
