Justin Hall defeated Alex Pagulayan for the inaugural Southern Classic Banks title. The Southern Classic is produced by Diamond Billiard Products and is being hosted by Harrah’s in Tunica, MS July 20-28, 2012.
Hall outlasted 161 players in the banks division to claim the title. The finals saw Pagulayan take a 2-0 lead. In game three, Hall managed to hold off Pagulayan to bring the match to a score of 2-1. Game four of the finals would be the game that turned the tide with Hall breaking and running out to tie the set at 2. Hall would only need a couple of innings to close out the next game to snatch the title from the heavily favored Pagulayan.
Other noteworthy players that made the final five players were John Brumback, Richie Richeson, and Scott Frost. The one pocket action continues Tuesday as the Diamond 10 Foot 10-Ball Challenge starts at 9pm CST.
