IPA to Live Stream English Open
The International Professional Pool Players Association (IPA) is pleased to announce to cue sport enthusiasts the World over to tune in to watch the JLEC English Open live from The Hilton Hotel, Bradford on the 8-10 of June. Part of the well organized IPA tour 2012, this event will see the cream of 8 ball players in competition, including previous World Champions in Jason Twist, Mick Hill, Gareth Potts, Phil Harrison, Carl Morris, and current champion Adam Davis as well as the best the amateur ranks have to offer including British Open and British Amateur winner Giuseppe D’Imperio, who currently heads the amateur standings and is the latest big find in our sport.
With pool as popular as it is we have arranged for the events to be “live streamed” via IPAPoolTour.com from 6.45pm – 11.00pm Friday evening, 10.15am – 11.00pm Saturday, and 9.00am – 3.00pm on the Sunday, so plenty too look forward to with over 21 hours of pool to choose from, while those able to attend in person will be delighted to find FREE admission on all days including the final! After eighteen months out of the sport but already back up to World Number 32, Morray Dolan told me “With England the ancestral home of 8 ball pool, the English Open is always one of the more important and fiercely contested events of the whole season as we can see from the line up. No one can come here supremely confident when they look at this field, but those who love their pool will be in for a treat with some amazing contests in prospect, and all credit to the IPA for moving the sport to a new level in the past year or so”.
IPA Chairman Kevin Barton continued “the Bradford event marks the half way stage in the IPA Tour calendar for 2012. It also marks the start of new partnerships with JLEC and Horizon, with the latter introducing new innovations to the live scoring for the benefit of our online viewers. The event is also pivotal for the professionals who are looking to consolidate their rankings and the amateurs whose eyes are on then end of season play offs and the chance to join the professional ranks. The venue itself (Hilton Bradford) is the biggest arena the tour visits in 2012 with a stunning 21 tables in action at any one time, so the atmosphere should be first class for players and spectators alike.”
With the new look IPA committee determined to move the sport forward, they have already attracted the likes of Hilton Group, Aramith balls, Strachan cloth, DPT tables, On Cue Promotions, Finicky Shirts, Sir Ivor Racing, and writesports.com to the table, and if viewing figures can be increased then the next step will hopefully be live television coverage.
