Jaique Ip Wan In Emerges Victorious

HONG Kong’s Jaique Ip Wan In emerged victorious from a raft of women snooker stars from around the globe to claim the inaugural Agnes Davies Memorial trophy.

Ip Wan In, twice IBSF Women’s World Championship runner-up, defeated her compatriot So Man Yan 3-0 in the final at the Terry Griffiths Matchroom in Llanelli, South Wales.

The first ranking event of the 2012/13 season was dedicated to the memory of the World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association’s former life president, who died last year aged 90.

Agnes Davies (nee Morris) was effectively the women’s professional world champion in 1949 and represented her native Wales for a staggering 60 years.

Ng On Yee, the IBSF Women’s World Champion in 2009 and 2010, compiled the day’s highest break of 83 in her 3-0 last-16 victory over Derby’s Hannah Jones.

Gaye Jones (Melksham, Wilts) won the Seniors event and Vicky Carter (Stevenage) claimed the Plate trophy.
