The Seminole Pro Tour arrived in The Big Apple for Labor Day weekend, and 64 top players are participating in the Empire State Championship. The 10-ball event boasts an $8,000-added prize purse and is hosted by Raxx Pool Room in West Hempstead, NY.

Defending champion Dennis Hatch already breezed through his first-round match, sending Manny Chau to the one-loss side of the chart with a 7-0 routing. The match-up of Hatch versus Chau is a repeat of last year’s finals. Hatch will next play Barry Banks, who defeated Mike Panzarella 7-3 in the first round. Another player who dealt his first-round opponent a donut is Mike “The Mouth” Sigel, who bested Ray Romanski 7-0.

Shaun “Get Some” Wilkie put on a clinic in his match against Matt Krah, defeating him 7-1. Corey Deuel did the same to Bill Dunsmore. “Devil Dave” was delivered to the west side 7-1 after his loss to Mike Miller. Robert Pole trounced Nick Brucatu 7-1.

Already there has been one upset: Josh Brothers upended Stevie Moore 7-2 in the first round.
