In the final eight on the winners’ side, Deuel matched up with former Player of the Year Shane Van Boening. The two players fought to double-hill before Deuel was sent west 8-7. Van Boening went on to face off against “Iron Mike” Davis, who had just delivered Mike Dechaine to the one-loss side after their hill-hill match. Yet another hill-hill match ensued, and it was Van Boening who advanced to the hot seat match while Davis was sent left 8-7.

Meeting Van Boening in the hot seat match was Rodney Morris. “Rocket” not been challenged as yet that day, delivering defeats to Mario Cruz 8-2 and then Tommy Kennedy 8-3. But his hot seat match with Van Boening went, as so many other matches had, double-hill, but ultimately it was the Hawaiian who stayed unseated.

Once on the west side of the chart, Deuel had an uphill battle to face. He started off with Florida’s Hunter Lombardo, eliminating him 8-5, and then went on to Dustin Morris, to whom he delivered a donut 8-0. Deuel then ousted Kennedy at fifth place with an 8-5 victory and went on to the quarterfinals.

There he matched up with Davis, who had just won yet another hill-hill match, this time against Jerry Calderon 8-7. Davis must have been spent, for Deuel swiftly put an end to his run 8-1 to advance to the semifinals. The recently defeated Van Boening, who was responsible for Deuel’s sole loss in this event, was Deuel’s opponent. It was a hotly contested battle of the big guns, but Deuel wreaked revenge to win 8-7. In the finals against Morris, Deuel had an easier time of things. The two traded the first four racks, but after that Deuel dominated the match to earn the win 9-2, winning his first Seminole Pro Tour title of the season.
