Lucasi Hybrid All-American Tour / Stuart, FL
by InsidePOOL Staff
Trey Jankowski took home the gold from the May 29 stop of the Lucasi Hybrid All-American Tour, besting Jerry Sotelo in the finals for the title. The Memorial Weekend Bar Box Bash was a $500-added event that featured a 30-player field in a double-elimination 8-ball format in races to 3, with Masters going to 4.
Jankowski had the hottest hand on this weekend, as he concluded his march to the hot seat by defeating Tony Groza in the A-side finals. With eight players remaining, Justin Kovalsky and Jeff Hughes ended the day at seventh place for Jon Callahan and Jason Jenkins, respectively. Sotelo then joined Doug Tittle in respectively ousting Kovalsky and Hughes at fifth place. Sotelo kept up his hot streak to eliminate Tittle at fourth place and Groza at third place. The finals were a single race to 5, and undefeated Jankowski cooled off Sotelo quickly by a 5-1 margin for the title.
