J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour / Savannah, GA
Tour director Tommy Kennedy took home first place at the September 26-27 installment of his J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour, defeating Shawn “Big Bubba” Putnam in the finals. The second stop of the season was hosted by Southside Billiard Club in Savannah, GA, and featured a $1,500-added prize fund.
Kennedy went undefeated through the event, meeting with Mike Staubes in the hot seat match and sending him to face the one-loss side with a 9-2 victory. From there Staubes had to face off against a determined Putnam, who was just off a 9-2 win over J.R. Rossman. Putnam had little trouble with Staubes, eliminating him after a lopsided 9-2 match to advance to the finals. Against Kennedy, though, he foundered, and “TK” won the hard-fought match 11-9.
In the amateur/semi-pro event held Sunday, David Crocker defeated Billy Homes in the finals to take first place. John Hill and Larry Lee rounded out the top four.
