Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour / Lanett, AL

The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour came to G-Man’s Billiards in Lanett, AL, for their March 7-8 weekend stop. The $1,500-added stop was won by Randy Jordan in the amateur-advanced division, while Drew Gentry won the amateur event.

The event drew in several notable amateur players, including Jesse Middlebrooks, Matt Bulfin, JR Rossman, David Trest, and Floyd Reasons and featured some tough matches throughout the competition. On the one-loss side Trest defeated Bulfin by making the 9 ball on the break three times in the same pocket, winning the set 9-7. This set Trest up to face Reasons in the quarterfinals, where Reasons ended his streak 9-5.

Another notable match-up was the match for the hot seat where Randy Jordan faced off against his brother, Jeff Jordan. Randy sent Jeff to the one-loss side 9-2, where he was bested by Reasons 9-7. The finals where over in one set as Randy Jordan was in stroke and defeated Reasons 9-6.

In the amateur division, Gentry had to defeat Reasons in the match for the hot seat and then defeat Bill Wright in the finals. Though the first set went to Wright 7-5, Gentry came back in set two 7-4 to claim his first win.
