Van Boening and Rousey Team Up for Pool School

U.S. Open Champion, Shane Van Boening, and top ranked WPBA pro, Sarah Rousey, will join forces to offer pool schools at G-Cue Billiards in Austin, TX on February 16th & 17th.  They have designed a pool school that will include many topics that are crucial to taking your game to the next level. This is not a clinic that will re-teach you how to grip your cue and pocket balls. This clinic will work with the skills you already have and help you perfect the small things that make a huge difference in winning matches.

“I’ve always been impressed with Sarah’s game. I see her at lots of men’s events and I like that she’s not afraid to play with the guys, and many times she beats them,” said Van Boening.  He adds “I’ve seen guys in the pool hall hear a loud monstrous break and they look around the room trying to figure out who it came from. Sarah’s break is so strong it’s hard to believe it comes from such a little girl.”

The pool school will begin with a breaking clinic, followed by various topics like safeties, kicking systems, position play/patterns, kick safeties, mental game advice and many practice drill ideas. The cost of the pool school is $200 per student and there are four sessions to choose from:

Monday, Feb. 16th 9:00AM—1:00PM
Monday, Feb. 16th 1:30PM—5:30PM
Tuesday, Feb. 17th 9:00AM—1:00PM
Tuesday, Feb. 17th 1:30PM—5:30PM

“We wanted to offer something that was different than the other pool schools out there. Many schools work on stroke & stance and basic mechanics that take longer than one day to change. So the things we will teach will help players make better shot decisions and become better players,” said Sarah.  She adds “The biggest differences between amateurs and pros are their knowledge of the game and consistency. We will help expand their knowledge and the consistency will come with practice.”
