Shane Van Boening took a loss to Jason Klatt in the final 8 of the winners bracket match personally apparently and made sure that no other opponent would get more than 4 racks on him in any set the rest of the tournament as he came from the left side to defeat “Bastrop” James Davis Sr. 7-2, 7-1 in the finals to win the Fast Eddies Olhausen 9-Ball Tour event and $1400 in San Antonio this weekend. Davis took hom $950 for his 2nd place finish and Jason Klatt, who succumbed to Davis in the hotseat match 9-4, had to settle for third place and $650. Rounding out the top 4 was David “G” Gutierrez, who took 4th and the $470 prize.
Van Boening put a clinic of how to play run out pool in the finals, as in both sets, Davis was left to watch an exhibition. Van Boening turned Davis’s safes against him, and capitalized on any mistake which Davis made. This double dip is payback for Van Boening after being double dipped in the most recent installment of the Houston Open. His tournament path took him through Ronnie Garza (9-2), Martin Salinas (9-4), Scott Kephart (9-5) before losing to Jason Klatt 9-3, and then in the 1-loss bracket, proceeded to defeat Rick Stanley (7-4), Martin Salinas (7-4), Bill Kester (7-2), David Gutierrez (7-3), and avenged his earlier loss by handing Jason Klatt a 7-2 loss before meeting up with Davis in the finals. Davis took the more direct route by winning the hot seat. He bested Cristina De La Garza (9-4), Lee Rosa (9-2), Danny Almaraz (9-8), Sarah Rousey (9-6), Bill Kester (9-6), and Jason Klatt (9-3) in the hot seat match.

Kyu Yi defeated Heather Pulford in the finals to capture the women's title.
In the womens event, Kyu Yi returned to the winners circle after winning the hotseat match over Shayla Neris (7-5). Neris would move on to place 3rd after losing to Heather Pulford in the semi-finals. Pulford, who was the 2007 Player of the Year for the Fast Eddies Tour Ladies division, looked to make a return to the winners circle herself, but had a tall order to fill to dethrone the reigning PotY, Yi. Pulford put her best foot forward and won the first set of the true double elimination 7-4, however was not able to muster up enough energy to do the same in the second set, as Yi moved on to win 5-3.
The tour would like to thank all of its sponsors for providing the opportunity to put events on for the players in the great state of Texas. The Fast Eddies Olhausen 9-Ball Tour is the regional tour for Texas; putting on open events at Fast Eddies locations across the state.
