Saturday play ends in San Antonio
Play has ended for the day here at Fast Eddies Embassy Oaks location in San Antonio, TX, where the Fast Eddies Olhausen 9-ball tour is holding its latest series of events. Out of the 83 players who started the day today, only 48 are returning on Sunday to continue playing for the $1400 first place prize money. In a surprising twist, there has been a lack of upsets, and still working their way through the winners bracket matches are pre-tournament favorites Shane Van Boening, Sylver Ochoa, David “G” Gutierrez, Jason Klatt and WPBA Professional Sarah Rousey.
Along with the main event, there was also a “Jack and Jill” mixed Scotch Doubles tournament played. 16 teams ponied up $40 to see who would have Valentine’s Day bragging rights. Teams played a race to 4 on the winners side and a race to 3 on the one-loss side. Some of the notables from the main event took place in this as well. Shane Van Boening and Cristina De La Garza were teamed up as were Sarah Rousey and Jason Klatt. David G and Shayla Neris were another pairing looking to make their mark.
Results from this event will be reported in the Sunday afternoon report. Sunday will also bring the $350 added womens event. This event is open to any woman not ranked in the top 24 on the WPBA.
Play begins tomorrow with 1-loss bracket action at 11:00am (cst). Winners bracket matches can be viewed at the Live Stream location in addition the viewer below.
