Pechauer All-American Tour / Dubuque, IA
Scott Hargens recovered from a strong attack by Rich Bideaux at the January 17 stop of the Pechauer All-American Tour to take first place. Hosted by Hammerheads Bar & Billiards in Dubuque, IA, the $500-added event drew 20 players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.
Hargens took the hot seat courtesy of a 5-2 victory over Casey Moriarity. On the B-side, Bideaux knocked Ron Pluym into fifth place 5-3, while Craig Hingtgen joined Pluym via a 4-4 loss to Kent Zirtzmann. Bideaux kept up his momentum to corral Zirtzmann into fourth place by a 5-3 margin and then Casey Moriarity into third place 5-2. The finals proved interesting, as Bideaux handed Hargens his first loss in set one by a 5-2 margin, only to have Hargens recover in set two to score a 5-2 win for the crown.
