WPA World Championships Day Two
Wednesday will be an exciting day in Reno. Three World Champions will be crowned in the juniors, boys and girls, and the wheelchair divisions. Wednesday the competition shifts to single-elimination so every match will be live or die.
In the wheelchair division our undefeated players include Henrik Larson of Sweden, Aaron Aragon of the USA, Jouni Tahti of Finland, and Charlie Hans of the USA. They will be joined by four players from the one-loss side. These names include Fred Dinsmore of Ireland, Matej Brajkovic of Slovenia, Brad Rautio of Canada and Alex Hutchins of the USA.
The junior boys also will bring back four who have yet to lose a match. These young men are Jerico Banares of the Philippines, Norio Ogawa of Japan, Manuel Ederer of Germany and Pin-Yi Ko of Chinese Taipei. Each of them will face one of the players coming off of the one-loss side. These players are Jonas Magpantay of the Philippines, Albin Ouschan of Austria, Hirotaka Kihara of Japan, and Roman Pruchai of Russia.
Our young ladies will feature two whose records are still perfect. They are Brittany Bryant of Canada and Zemonette Oryan of the Philippines. The two who survived the one-loss side to face them are Sabrina Naverschnig of Austria and Konischi Samia of Japan.
At the end of the day we will know our champions. The young ladies will play at 3:30 EST, the wheelchair players will complete at 6:00 EST and the young men will finish up the show at 8:30 EST. Tune in for some great pool and to catch a glimpse of the stars of tomorrow from the juniors and the heroes of today from the wheeled players.
