NCS 8-Ball Championship Player List Grows
The weekend after Thanksgiving, players in the south and mid-west descended upon Shooters Billiards in Olathe, Kansas and Grady’s Pool Hall and Tavern in Lexington, South Carolina to win a spot to the inaugural NCS 8-Ball Championships.
Each player hoped to qualify for the $32,000 national event and a chance to represent the United States in the 2009 WPA World 8-Ball Championship and the following two names have been added to the list: Chip Compton, who won the qualifier at Shooters and Josh Roberts, who qualified at Grady’s.
Produced by CueSports International (CSI), the NCS 8-Ball Championship will support up to 64 players. It will be the first of 5 national events in 5 different cue disciplines. The NCS is open to men, women, amateur and professional. In order to compete on the national level, players must win a qualifier spot in poolrooms around the country.
