Kaufman Cashes in Oshkosh Billiard Event
Pechauer All-American Tour / Oshkosh, WI
Duncan Kaufman took down the December 20 stop of the Pechauer All-American Tour over Tom McCloskey in the finals. Hosted by The Varsity Club in Oshkosh, WI, this $1,000-added event featured 47 players in a double-elimination 9-ball format on 7-foot Diamonds.
Kaufman took an undefeated route to the finals. In the A-side finals, he clipped Nate Angel on the hill 7-6. Earlier, in the A-bracket semis, Kaufman dominated McCloskey 7-1, while Angel comfortably dispatched Kurt Jennison 7-3.
In the final eight on the one-loss side, John Fields eliminated Jamie Welch at seventh place 7-4, while Terry Zagar tied with Welch, courtesy of a 7-6 loss at the hands of Tim Ruenger. In the B-side quarterfinals both Fields and Ruenger had their day ended at fifth place at the hands of Jennison 7-5 and McCloskey 7-5, respectively. McCloskey then tapped Jennison into fourth place by a 7-2 margin, and McCloskey kept up his momentum to end Angel’s run in third place 7-1. McCloskey’s tournament finals was a repeat of his previous match with Kaufman, as Kaufman again dispatched McCloskey by a 7-1 margin for the title.
