Moore Eliminates Van Boening to Advance to Finals
Steve Mizerak Championship / Hollywood, FL
The Seminole Pro Tour’s $20,000-added Steve Mizerak Championship has wound down to its final two players after Steve Moore ousted Shane Van Boening in the semifinal match earlier Sunday. Moore will now advance to the final match against Gabe Owen to challenge him for the $10,000 first-place prize.
In what was described as a dogfight, Van Boening and Moore met in the chilly players’ arena, with both shivering from the cold. It took a while for each to find their rhythm, and both made several errors along their way. The match remained even throughout, and Van Boening reached the hill first 7-6 in the race to 8. Moore made an incredible out to knock the score. After a lengthy safety battle over the 1 ball, Moore kicked it in and then progressed through the rest of the rack to advance to the finals.
