Eight Players Undefeated in Steve Mizerak Championship
Steve Mizerak Championship / Hollywood, FL
A full 64-player field turned out for the Steve Mizerak Championship event, the finale for the Seminole Pro Tour’s 2008 season. The event is being hosted by the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, FL, November 13-16, and boasts a $20,000-added prize purse, with a hefty $10,000 going to the winner.
The winners’ bracket has wound down to eight undefeated players, with last month’s champion, Neil Fujiwara, leading the pack. His event started with a 7-5 defeat of Dave Grossman and then progressed to a hill-hill besting of Mike Davis. A 7-4 win over Jerry Calderon placed him in the top eight undefeated, with his next match against Adam “GQ” Smith.
Steve Moore, another past winner on the Seminole Pro Tour, is also in the top eight undefeated and has given up only four total racks in his first three matches. He began by whitewashing Eddie Cabrera, allowed Dave Broxson one rack before winning 7-1, and then sent Ron Park west 7-3. Moore’s next match will be against Mark Haddad.
