Great Southern Billiard Tour 10-Ball Kicks Off
By InsidePOOL Staff
November 18-23, King Street Billiards in Fayetteville, NC hosts the $25,000 added Players Championship of the Great Southern Billiard Tour. The event includes both a 10-ball and one-pocket division. 74 of the top professional and amateur players from across the country signed up for the 10-ball event, including three WPBA professionals.
The 10-Ball format is Texas Express, race to 9 (finals must win by two games), winner breaks, rack your own, 2 and 3 ball racks in the corners, and no soft breaks. 10 ball pocketed on the break in any pocket is not a win.
The spacious King Street Billiards removed a row of pool tables to accommodate for bleachers in the back of the room. The venue still has well-spaced tables for all the matches. Following the 6 o’clock players’ meeting, tournament directors Shannon Daulton and Jay Helfelt decided to play only one round of seven matches to give players a chance to prepare for Wednesday matches.
