King Street Billiards in Fayetteville, NC hosts the $25,000 added Great Southern Billiard Tour Players Championships. Day two of the event kicked off with noon matches. On our feature table, Corey Deuel was sent defeated by local seasoned player, T.F. Whittington. Both players were struggling, Deuel was not feeling well and Whittington’s car was broken into at his hotel the night before. Both players were so distracted that Deuel at one point forgot to mark a game and Whittington shot the cue ball when he had ball in hand. The final score was 9-7.

Our originally scheduled 2 o’clock feature match up of Larry Nevel and Stevie Moore was changed to Johnathan “Hennessey” Pinegar and Chris Bartram. Moore received word earlier this morning that his uncle was on life support and left immediately. The Bartram / Pinegar match stayed tight with Pinegar leading no more than two games. Bartram did not take the lead until 7-6. At hill-hill, Pinegar broke and ran to take the set.

On a neighboring table, local 19-year-old bar-table player, Jared “J-Rock” McGee has just given Hall-of-Famer Nick Varner his first loss. Of the WPBA ladies, Melissa Little has won her first two matches and Sarah Rousey is also undefeated.

Some undefeated matches to look out for are: Cliff Joyner and Larry Price, McGee and Wade Crane, Charlie Bryant and John Morra, Little and Shane VanBoening, travel companions Adam Smith and Beau Runningen, Sparky Ferrell and Sarah Rousey, and Tony Chohan and Gabe Owen.
