Danny Cintron won his third Tri-State Tour stop on the weekend of November 1-2, finishing undefeated for the second time after a close call in the finals against Marc Pantovic. The $600-added, A-D handicapped 10-ball event was hosted by Master Billards in Queens, NY, and drew 32 entrants.

Cintron survived two double-hill battles in his final three matches. In the first of these, among the winners’ side final four, he defeated Robert Kight, who’d won the tour event himself on October 11. Pantovic, in the meantime, was being sent west by Corey Eulas 7-4. Cintron gained the hot seat with a 7-5 victory over Eulas.

Kight and Pantovic dropped Mike Wong and Tim Edmonds, respectively, into a tie for fifth place and faced each other in the quarterfinals. Pantovic advanced for his second chance against Eulas in the semifinals by winning a hill- hill struggle against Kight. The second Pantovic/Eulas matchup resolved in Pantovic’s favor 7-5.

Cintron and Pantovic fought back forth in the early part of the extended format finals to a 4-4 tie. Pantovic then surged ahead to reach 7, forcing the extension to nine games. Cintron caught up to knot it a 7, and Pantovic reached the hill on the next game. Cintron, however, ran the next rack and then sank the 9 ball on the subsequent break to finish it.
