It was a busy weekend in Omaha, as Jamie Fenton and Justin Gunian took first-place honors in the four-event, J. Pechauer All-American Tour stop October 24-26. The $1,200-added amateur events ($300 per event) drew an aggregate total of 48 entrants to Fort Crook Billiards in Omaha, NE.

Fenton and Gunian were among the final four on the winners’ side in the 9-Ball Singles event. Gunian advanced through to the finals with a 7-4 victory over Lee Norton and Bob Brown 7-2 in the hot seat match. Fenton, on the other hand, went west at the hands of Brown and then dropped into a tie for fifth when Alfredo Carillo advanced past him to the quarterfinals. Carillo then got past Bob Brown 7-2 in the semifinals and took second place when Gunian defeated him 7-4 in the finals.

Fenton and Gunian then met twice during Saturday’s 8-ball singles event, with Fenton winning both times—in the hot seat match 5-2 and in the finals 5-4. It was Victor Grandstaff who, emerging from the final eight on the one-loss side, after defeating Zack Willis 5-3 in the quarterfinals, met Gunian in the semifinals. Gunian turned the tables on him, winning 5-3 and advancing for the second chance at Fenton. The finals were a hill-hill affair, won by Fenton.

Becky Anderson’s path to victory in the women’s event, which drew only six entrants, was marked by two hill-hill wins over Amy Hughes. From among the final four on the winners’ side, she sent Hughes west with a double-hill win to gain the hot seat. After Hughes dropped Dot Cyr into third place in the semifinals with a hill-hill win of her own, she turned back and took second place on the heels of Anderson’s second double-hill victory.

Gunian was in the finals of the mixed scotch doubles event as well, paired with Cyr. They were defeated by Jill Nagel and Zack Willis in those finals.
