Feijen made a stop in Lexington, SC after attempting to defend his Challenge of Champions title earlier this week. His trip to Lexington was more successful.

“Everybody that came had a good time,” stated room owner Grady Mathews about his August 15-16 9-ball tournament. Though it only attracted eight players, Niels Feijen was on hand to put on a clinic in the finals of the $1,000-added event, which was hosted by Grady’s in Lexington, SC.

Coming from the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT, where Feijen attempted to defend his International Challenge of Champions title, the Dutchman had little trouble cutting through the small but talented field. He met up with Mike Gulyassy in the hot seat match and sent him to the one-loss side with an impressive 11-3 score.

Once on the west side of the chart, Gulyassy was faced with local hotshot player Josh Roberts, who had just dropped Mathews into fourth place. In this tight match, Roberts managed to come out ahead the 11-8 winner to advance to the finals against Feijen. However, from there it was all Feijen. The Dutch champion breezed through Roberts to win the final match 11-3. As Randi Mathews put it, “He was shooting straight.”

Results:
1st Niels Feijen
2nd Josh Roberts
3rd Mike Gulyassy
4th Grady Mathews
