Though born July 17 in Chicago, IL, Laura Smith now lives in Lafayette, CO. She plays with both a Kikel and a Jackson Cue.

Smith played in her first pro event in 1980 and went pro five years later. In addition to being a professional player, Smith is also the executive director of the Billiard Education Foundation.
